Looking to put different wheels on my '02 SS which is SOM. I like the gunmetal look, but my friends say chrome or polished. Just taking a poll on your thoughts. Any pics would be nice too! This is the wheel I was thinking...

actually i've never liked the look of chrome against SOM. Polished or gunmetal look awesome on that color. In the link look at post 44 and you'll see SOM with polished SS wheels. They look killer against SOM

Gunmetal for the win. I painted my stock 16s GM gunmetal metallic on my rally red Z28 and I love it. Its not flashy like chrome and not as dull as black.

Those are polished which are my choice mostly because they have a deeper look to them and when/if they get any scratches it can be buffed out... Chrome is easier to clean but way to much flash for my liking

I love DD C5's.

Chrome looks sex in a DD C5 on SOM, but I think gunmetal would look good as well. I don't like polished lips though.

Awesome feedback guys! Lots of great info. And yes, LPE 403, that car looks BAD ***! I really like the gunmetal, just afraid it will look to bland on a great color. Chrome is out...polished is still in the race. Not sure I want the up keep of the polished wheels. Aren't they a pain to clean and care for? Say I get a chemical on them from cleaning my tires...now I have a spot on my wheel that needs to be repolished? Gunmetal or polished C5's??? That is now the question...

Polished are more work but once you have them nice you just clean them up every once in a while and maybe buff them once a year and call it good

honest if your going to buy new add the cost up,18 inch tires arent cheap and used you can get some pretty baller wheels for around the 2200-2500 range with good tires,might be worth the few extra hundo , well it is worth it when it comes to wheels they make the car, my fav wheel is i forged aeros, fm5s , ccw sp500s,streetlites , think 17inch streetlites will run ya around 1700ish ,think last time i got a price it was 1750, they could be a lil cheaper now

polished , sorry for me thats a polish job 1 -2 x a month, my next wheels will have pc centers ,with polished lip , lips are much easier to maintain then a whole wheel, polished looks the best though,chrome has a cheaper look to it but alot easier to maintain, i havent driven my car in months and the wheels need polished bad

That's what I talking about. I like to keep my car looking good and those are my thoughts exactly. I'll be polishing them too often and might be a pain in butt.
