Default Race stars/ Dark stars on fbody with C5Z brakes?

I'm planning on buying a set of the race stars for my car, and wanted to know if anyone has tried fitting them over c5z brakes? I'm thinking I might have to grind the rear fins to fit, or go with Ls rear calipers, and see how it does?

I planned to run 17x4s up front to clear the front brakes, don't think that will be an issue, then the 15x8s on the rear, just worried the larger rear calipers will cause issues..

Thanks in advance, I tried searching it, but seems like the question hasn't been brought up.

you will for sure have to switch back to ls1s in the back.. i still believe the front caliper will be too wide and you have have to run a spacer up front or switch brakes up there too.

With my Dark Star setup, I had to grind one of my rear calipers and I have stock LS1 brakes.

Thanks for the advice, I'm on the fence still, I might just go get a set of bogarts and be done with it...

If anyone has c5z brakes and has tried these it would be a great help, I like the looks of these over the d10s, and the price is hard to beat!

The guy I bought the car from ran the bogarts without any issues, I will have to get with him on the exact sizes but I am 90% sure he ran 17/15s

I bought the car off Wilwaxu I attached a picture of the car with the bogarts on it.. yall think those are 16s?

hard to tell but I know even with 15inch bogarts you have to grind ls1 calipers, so I don't see how he did it with c5 brakes unless they are 16s

I'm going to call the smj Monday and see if they remember which wheels they sold him for the car, I can't seem to find him on the forums anymore, must of moved on..

As of now, I'm thinking I might just swap back to ls1 calipers and do alot less grinding.. The c5z calipers are slightly larger, and I would hate to over grind them, and run into an issue..

I might just keep the gto spares up front... But I've been itching for some real wheels for awhile now... Who knows

I know the 17x4.5 darkstars fit with the ctsv Ugrade and the c5 upgrade, no problems with plenty of clearance.

How is this possible? The 17x4.5 have a max backspace of 2.5"

JL9 c7 brakes on stock ZR1 wheels which are 17x9 with 7" backspace require a 5mm spacer just to clear those brakes, yet 4.5" of LESS room is going to ft the c5 and ctsv? I doubt the c7 calipers are 4" wider than c5's....
