Default F-body's running 18/19 C6 wheels

I have done lots of research online, and can't quite find a definitive answer to my question. I just bought a set of C6 wheels and I'm struggling to decided on a tire size.

Originally I planned on running the stock Vette size, but then I found out that there could be some ABS issues running tires with over a 1" variance in overall tire diameter. My questing is, what is the exact limit that will through the ABS off, and cause issues?

If I run 255/35/18 up front and 295/30/19's in the rear, that would be a .94" difference in diameter. Would this be OK? I like this size combo because the sidewalls are close to the same height.

I also bought a set of 1.25" wheel adapters on ebay, so I've got that covered.

I've seen a lot of posts on C6 wheels, but most of the information is old and incomplete. So any help on the topic would be great!

I run the stock vette tire sizes on mine with no issues. 285s out back, 245s in the front.

I'm going to 18s in the back. If you want a sick deal on my 19 rear wheels and tires shoot me a pm.

I actually have a set of C6 wheels in route to me now, but thanks anyways for the offer!

So you are saying if I run the stock corvette sizes, I should have no problems at all? The online tire calculator says the corvette tire sizing has a 1.13" diameter difference, and I was thinking that was too big of a difference for a Camaro to handle?

Also, why are you switching to 18's in the back?

I never liked the staggered look, but when I ordered the wheels, OE didn't have an 18x10.5 version.

I haven't had any issues to speak of with the different size wheels. I don't race it or anything, so I very rarely hit abs under braking. I do have C6 ZO6 brakes up front too.

I think you'll be fine if you run the stock sizes. Personally, I think 18s all around around is a perfect look.

With those spacers though you will have to roll your inner fender lip. No way around that. Maybe run a 1.25 if you can find it (another reason I want to go 18s).

Yeah, I have the 1.25" spacers. Not sure how happy I am to be using them though...

Safe difference in tire height for ABS & speedo is +2 / -3 percent.

I got the C6 wheels last night.. I don't like how much clearance I have in the rear. I just mounted up a bare wheel, as I don't have tires yet, but I only had about 1/2" of clearance between the inner fender and the wheel with the 1.25" spacers. I'm not sure about tire to outer fender lip, though.

I know people run wheels/tires a lot larger than these, but I don't see how. I'm new to the F-body though, I came from a 2002 Mustang. I ran 315/35/17's on that, and had far more clearance than these wheels do!

I only mounted up one side last night. Tomorrow I'm installing the Strano springs and Koni's, so I will mount up both rear wheels and take more measurements. Although, I'm pretty certain I will sell the C6 wheels on ebay and look at buying 4 18x9.5's......

I'm running 19x12 out back with 305/30/19 and 1/4" spacers IIRC. They take a LOT of work to make fit. I'm not sure what wheel width you're running, but part of the reason there's so much less clearance than your mustang is because the overall diameter of the tire itself. I don't remember what the new size measures out to, but I do know it's considerably larger than with 17's.

The ONLY way to make them fit is BFH and a pretty serious fender roll. I still haven't gotten mine to completely clear yet, but I'm still trying to find someone in the area to do an actual roll on my fenders.

Edit: and you have to cut the bumpstops out as well

And in response to earlier, I have no abs issues with mine and I'm running an identical setup in front as well.

I picked up my oem c6 wheels last year. I scored a deal as I got the color I wanted (painted black by p/o) and an amazing price. I bought 1.25" hubcentric adapters and have no worries, as personally I don't track my car. inner fender has never been a problem for me even after heater hose mod and then lowering with isolators. outer fender lip only became issue when I did heater hose. only would rub if bounced low enough. i lowered my car 1.25" put the isolators back in and rub still, but that's because I need to readjust my control arms, as my passenger side sits closer toward rear. once I adjust them, im sure I would not hit. I don't even have my fender rolled either. I don't have an issue with abs, although ive never had to brake hard enough for it to come on, so I cant say exactly if its still there without looking for it. I like the look of my 18/19 combo and they are stock vette size 245/40/18 and 285/35/19. running 40/35 profile vs 35/30 seems to help with the roughness I would imagine, plus it helps fill up the wheel well a bit better and allows for slightly more ground clearance.
