Default Words can't express how mad I am right now! Fikse needed

Just noticed today that my dog completely destroyed my front rim. Barrel & center on my 17x9 FM5! How much is it going to cost to replace it?

^Id like to know as well damn. A barrel or lip is $250 each from Fikse. I can't elimagine he did enough damage that refinishing it wouldn't fix?

You don't need a new wheel, it just needs to be refinished. The wheel place I used in Dallas ran me $120 per wheel for my FM5's.

I would go to a good paint supply shop and find out where you can get it stripped. I bought aircraft stripper to clean off the caps on my Fikse but it didn't work at all.

Last quotes I received where $250 a barrel and $450 a center. Are you sure the barrel is clear coated? On mine only the centers were. If you can strip the clear off the center without messing with the finish underneath then it can probably be clear coated again.

In my case the dumbass wheel shop gouged the center so I ended up getting them powdercoated.

I had the Fikses on my 93 refinished. If you get one done depending on the finish they won't be able to replicate it to match the others. Mine were the technipolish, once they strip the clear and re-polished the metal they weren't going to be able to match the technipolish on the other wheels. So I had to have the entire set done.

No, just the center is clear coated.

OMG! I hope you're wrong!!!! I'm waiting on a e-mail from Fikse. Hopefully tomorrow I'll get an e-mail. Mine is also Techni-Polish.

Just a suggestion, call Fikse. I sent them an email a week ago about refinishing and havn't heard back. I hope that I can just pull the wheels apart, polish the barrels and have the centers stripped and new clear sprayed. I don't know where I could get the centers polished again other then Fikse.

I would just strip the coating off all the wheels and then polish them up. The technipolish will strip right off with some aircraft stripper.

I tried aircraft stripper on the centre caps, it didn't do a thing. I haven't tried it on the centres themselves but I'm going to see if I can find a place that can dip the centres.

Are you sure the center caps are not polished? If I remember right, only the spokes on my old Fikse wheels were technipolish.

^Positive, I ended up sanding the clear coat off of them because the stripper wouldn't take it off.

That works too. As long as you didn't get too aggressive with the grit, they should polish up just fine.
