Painted pitted ruff racing 278s I've got a set of ruff racing 278s that have some pretty bad pitting. I'm wondering if anyone has any experience with refinishing aluminum wheels that they would like to give some insight on. The lip is the only part of the rim that has any flaws so that's the only part I'm going to mess with.

They don't look too bad from what I can see. Looks like mostly clear coat damage but I can't say from a picture. Can you take them to a metal polisher to see if they can be lightly sanded, polished, then clear coated?

A lot of it is clear coat that has flaked off but some of it is actual pitting. I suppose i could do some light sanding and try to polish them up best as I can.
