Who makes the best 18" drag radial
Hey guys I'm thinking of picking up a set Y2K's with 18's out back and I'm just wondering if anyone makes an 18" Drag Radial...I've been looking around but can't seem to find anything. I found a Nitto tire but it seems to be more of a road race tire. Longivity is not an issue as the car is only driven once a week. FWIW the car puts donw 450 rwhp, and has a 4200 stall, I need to be able to hook up in 1st gear. Right now I'm running a MT ET street, on a 16" wheel, and It hooks up ok but not nearly good enough. Any suggestions. I have a dedicated set of wheels and tires for the track so I'm not looking to cut 1.5 60s or anything like that. I just want to be able to drag some *** on the street.

Ok I think I found one; Nitto NT 555R 305/45/r18 110v. Anyone in here have any experience with these? 60' times? Has MT released their new ET drag radial in an 18"? Anymore insight into these tires? What sponsers carry these?

That tire is 28.8" tall. Too tall to fit without some bodywork. Nitto is also making a 305/35/18 that will fit better.
The MT drag radials are out but I haven't seen any yet.

Just looked up the BFG's, it appears that the traction rating on them is a "B" where as the Nitto's are an "A"...Does anyone have any real world experience with both tires. Which one will allow me to hook up better? It appears that Nitto is also making a 305/35/r18 as well...Will it fit better than the 45 that I mentioned earlier? There is also a 285/35/r18...what would you guys suggest.
Thanks guys

Stock 275/40/17 tires are 25.6" tall. If your concerned about your speedo being correct the 285/35/18 is 25.9" tall a 1% difference. The 305/35/18 is 26.4" tall a 3% difference. (The 305/45/18 is 12.5% larger)
Also your Y2K's are probably 18x9.5" and will fit the 285's better. 305's should go on a 10.5" or wider rim.
