Default need some advise

I am about to go crazy trying to figure out what wheels to go with. My first choice was chrome Z06's, but it seems like everyone is getting them or has them already. I want to go with something different, thinking now of some staggered, deep dish, type wheels. My question is what size? My car has factory ground effects and they rub the ground now if your not carefull. I just don't think I could get away with lowering it very much, and i'm wanting to put some long tubes on it too at some point, i'm afraid if I go with 18's and don't lower it it will look bad. Will 17's look as bad as 18's if I don't lower it, or just lower it maybe an inch? Need some help guys. Here is a couple of pics of the car with the factory wheels i'm dying to get off of it.

yea that's the plan, just wanting these stock wheels off of it, but have plans for long tubes, suspention upgrades, intake, cam, tb, heads, etc etc.......btdget only allows for so much at once though :-)

I was in your boat, i just did a little at a time, I went with the TTIIs, they are polished aluminum and they are a pain in the butt to keep clean, Go chrome or painted. Then do your bolt ons, and then internals. Shop around though.

Hey Matt, Man i'm thinking about it very seriously, but still may go with some z06's like yours, but if I do I think I may go with 17's instead, like I origanally had in mind. I'm thinking that having more tire might not look as bad if I don't lower it, or only go an inch like you and I were talking about. That's kinda what I was trying to find out with this thread, was other peoples oppinions on tire hieght vs/ the gap between the top of the tire and bottom of the fender. Maybe it's just me, but from pics i've been looking at, 17's seem to look better on cars that are'nt lowered than 18's do.

I went with 18's and 1" BMR Lowering Springs. I have Long Tubes, X-Pipe and 3" True Duals running under the axle with no clearance problems. 17's look good, but personaly I think the 18's are the way to go. Either way you have to lower it to make it look right.

If I had some pics I would. For overall height though, there is only a 1-2% difference going with a 18" rim and a 35 series tire and a 17" rim with a 40 series tire. My car did look funny though with the 18 before I lowered it! And it had the 17" SS wheels when I bought it and it looked okay.

Yeah I guess I could. Why don't you just buy the QA1's Like i was telling you about that way you could set your ride height anywhere you want it.
