Default will i need longer wheel studs for my skinnies?

tried doing a search but couldnt find the answer i was looking for. i put extended wheel studs on the rear when i put my 9 inch in. so i got my rear draglites on today with a little grinding of the calipers and a little cutting here and there since its a 28inch tire. anyway, my question is will i need extended wheel studs or spacers for the front skinnies. or will i just be able to do some grinding and get them on ok? they are 15x3.5 draglites. thanks in advance for any help

You can fit the 3.5s on the front with no spacer and some grinding. If you use a 5/8" spacer you should not have to grind. I would recommend not using a spacer, do some grinding, and install ARP studs in the front.

BTW, thats a 5/16" spacer, not 5/8", that would be huge. I am actually getting ready to grind mine down, I fit them with a 5/16" spacer on front but I want the wheel tucked more so I'm going to grind them.

Yep, it's 5/16" spacer. You will need atleast a 3" stud to pass tech if you use the spacers. I still using my stock studs in the front but that's not very smart. I know GM makes a 3" stud but good luck with that, I've been to 2 dealerships and the guys just looked at me dumb founded since I had no part number. ARP make a 3.125" that should work. Even if you do grind, you will probrably still need longer studs to pass tech.

Here's a pic of how they tuck with the spacers, if your intrested in going that route.

Excuse the lack of shine, the car hasn't been touched in two weeks.

If my fogger nozzle comes for my 2nd stage of nitrous it's possible that I'll be there. Don't think I'm going to Camaro day though, not worth running if it's not heads up. Although, if there is a TNT that day I might run. I really want to see 10.20-10.40 in race trim.

BTW: I can't remember if the stock front studs are 2" or 2.5". I'm thinking they are 2.5.

Yeah, I'll catch up with you at some point. There are usually only a few LS1 f-bodies running over there so it shouldn't be hard to spot you.
