Does the same rule apply to a 19" wheel?

Anything wider than 285 is against manufacturer's recommendations, unsafe, and is pointless . .

bring back a dead topic......I currently have C6 Z06 wheels on the car (18x10.5 in rear)....looking at getting some TSW Snettertons with tax return and getting those powdercoated. I recently purchased new tires as well...Firestone Firehawk wideovals, which I've been told run smaller than advertised size. they are 295/35/18, will this be a problem on a 9.5inch rim? period?

IT WILL fit, bit is not recommended. I have 19x10 in the rear, and run 295/30/19. I MIGHT try out some 305's, but i'm not too sure about that. However, I run 18x8.5 in the front and have on 265/35/18, and I seem to be one of the lucky ones with no problems...yet...

I understand, just the thought of selling tires that I just purchased, losing money on those, then buying more tires = wasting a lot more money. I won't be doing an HPDE with them lol, I'll have an extra set of rims with tires just for that.

Then again, I've seen people run 305's on 9.5" wheels. I would HIGHLY recommend against that, but i'm just letting you know it's been done. Hell, there was a thread on here a while back about a mustang that had 8" wheels and had 315's on them. Lol. Looked absolutely RIDICULOUS!

Edit: Found the thread.

Edit 2: THIS is just as bad in the opposite way. THIS guy put 235's on a 17x11 wheel... (scroll down a bit to see pics)

same deal with the firehawk wideoval, the 295 is more like 285 so I should be fine.

I do hate that euro **** where the stretch small *** tires on a huge rim, I'm **** about **** fitting right lol, I just want to make sure. I also don't want to waste money and resources buying more tires too!

previous owner bought them as a rim and tire package.
