Default Nitto NT 555 vs. BFGoodrich KDW

I just purchased a set of torque thrust 2 rims for my SS. 17x9.5 and 17x11. I have decided that I am running the nitto drag radial on the back, but I was wondering which would be the better tire for the front as far as tread wear? I would like to have a set of matched tires (nitto on front and back), but, I want what is going to last the longest, since I know I'll have to replace the back tires around every 12-15K miles.

I'd venture to say the KDWs would last longer than the 555s. But then again, it all depends on your driving habits.

On discount tire's site, it said that they both had a 300 rating. I went on ahead and ordered the nittos. The sales rep said that I would probably like them better anyway. I've had the kdw before and they were bad about wearing the corners off the tires too fast. Like, 5,000 miles

Nitto makes a 275/40/zr17 555 with a tread wear of 300 that works great. And it is a very close resemblence to the bigger Nitto 315/35/zr17 555r drag radial. Its a great combo.

The tread wear rating can only be compared within the same brand tire. A 300 rating Nitto will not be the same as a 300 tread wear rating on a BFG. May be close, but they wont be the same. A BFG rating of 280, may be the same as a Goodyear rating of 320. Feel me?
