17 or 18? PLEASE HELP
I'm currently looking for rims for my red 95 firehawk. I can't decide whether to get 18s in the back or not? Nitto DR's are $250+ in 18s vs. $144 in 17s. Would you guys suggest 17s all the way around or 17s in front 18s in back? Is it worth it to save money on tires? how much better do 17s ride rather than 18s? Please help I don't know what to do!!!

You're going to get alot of mixed reviews
Some folks love the staggered look with the 17/18 combo
Others (myself included) feel that staggered setups don't look as good on f-cars as they do on vettes
Just my $.02

I say 18's, I'll be starting with apperance on my car once i get the new motor in and im def. going with 18's. I wouldnt worry about the stiffness of the sidewall, street radials and DR's, all have stiffer sidewalls so there isnt much, if any, flex in the sidewall on a launch. I think some ET streets are different, but with DR's on either 17's or 18's will produce desirable results as far as traction, and 18's look better!

I've even seen 19's and the looked OK. NOw at 20's... were getting too big!!!!!!!!

Yeah the wheel sizes today are going out of control. 95Firehawk what brand of wheels are you going to be getting? Anyway I would never go any bigger than 18'' on an f-body. IMO

I say 18's all the way around.
I have 18 x 9.5's with 275-35-18 tires. The car rides much smoother than I expected.
In the style of wheels I choose, you could even buy the 18 x 10.5 in the rear for a little extra traction/look.
