So far from what I've experience with my GSD3s is that they are good for all around weather. They are great in the rain and in the dry. I've put more than 10,000 miles easily on mine with most but with spirited driving in the corners. They still have 6/32 of tread left. I'd say if you have the means get them. No they will not hook better than drag radials but they are a great street tire.

None of those things are benefits vs. drag radials. Extreme performance summer tires like those goodyears are more biased towards handling than anything else. The will not hook better for launches.
Mileage life vs launch traction vs price, these are things that all fight each other.
No street tire will hook better than drag radials, and most high-end performance tires are not geared towards good wear.

I never said that the GSD3s would hook up better than any drag radial. I'm simply stating the pros to the GSD3s that he was asking about. I've had the stock GSCs, Bridgestone Potenza R730s, Kumho Ecsta 712, Michelon Pilot Sports, and the GSD3s. All of my tires have lasted at least 30,000 miles plus. If you use your car for strictly high performance function then I would say they won't last you more than 15 or 20,000, but I like to take care of my tires, as they don't come cheap.

My post was there before yours was when I was typing mine out. That's weird and that's why I thought you were responding to my answer. Sorry, but it seems like the server is a bit out of whack.

I've been pleased with my D3's all around performance. I did alot of bad weather driving on I77 last year and the car felt on rails during heavy rainshowers at freeway speeds. They hook suprisingly well on the street but not as well as a hot DR. I'm a little over 13K and hope to make it 20-22K miles. Tires have see 30+ track passes with a very short spin over to clean them on each pass.

the d3's are awesome street tires, but i wouldnt try to compare them to dr's. i just got through my first set of d3's i have 24k miles on em, and if i would have rotated them more im sure i could have gotten a couple thousand more miles. im getting d3's again on saturday.
