Wheel Well Cleaning
I'm going to be cleaning and re-painting my front wheel wells. Got two questions
1. How do you remove them properly(the black plastic parts)
2. Any suggestions on how to properly clean the wheel wells?
Thanks in advance.

I haven't removed mine, but there's several bolts/screws that hold them in place.
I clean mine with a diluted all-purpose cleaner and a brush. I treat them with water-based tire dressing once or twice a month.

i don't think paints going to stick to that plastic too well
i'd just wash them with carwash soap as you do the rest of your car
mine still look new and i've got 79xxx miles

I have a seperate wash mitt and I do the rims/ wheel wells last on the car. Then I spray some Armor-All on the plastic well and wipe evenly with a rag. Looks sooooooo much better than not doing it.

There's a guy who cleaned up his wheel wells very, very nice. He posted pics I'll see if I can find it, if he don't post in here first.

You would be surprised how well it can stick if you prep them right. When I bought my car the plastic was all messed up looking. They were so ashy that they looked white and no matter what I put on them they didn't darken at all. I think the previous owner tried to spray them with clear coat So I scuffed them up and used sone adhesion promoter and sprayed them simigloss black. They turned out really well and I was worried about putting them back in but they have held up really well over the past month. I drive the car daily and I haven't had any problems YET. I'm sure they will chip and look bad again but I did it at the last minute getting ready for a show so I didn't care how long it lasted as long as I could get them to look good for the weekend.
