BEGGING FOR HELP!!...effin rim hits the bump stop
ok guys i hav 18x10.5 z06 with 58mm offset rims, went to the shop 2day to get them mounted, the 9.5's fit perfectly in the front but they dont even fit in the back?? wut the hell!!
anyway, the thing thas in the way for 10.5 rim is the bump stop, i think id hav to complete remove it because even the 9.5 were hitting it too
i really hav no option but to buy 1+" spacers, which leades me to the other problem...there not enough tread for the lug nuts to grip SAFELY...only 3 treads, maybe 4 but their not safe at all
sorry guys but im really angry/aggravated about this whole situtation
if my camaro brothers can HELPme out, especially fron xxsta i would greatly appreciate...been waiyting for 6 months to get these things on only to be turned down in 5 mins
guys help me out please..IM BEGGING YOU!!

Mine are just cut off completely and I've never come ANYWHERE near bottoming...
I bet you 50 bucks if you compress the rear suspension you can actually get em on, but they'll hang when you go do jumps in your car and what not. I wouldn't recommend that!
My fenderwells were hammered in a bit, and the whole bumpstop bracket cut off with a torch, so now I just need some stiff springs and I can go jump my car and the wheels won't hang on it anymore! I'm really excited too cuz my friend bet me 20 bucks I can't jump my whole car over his body!!!

Most 9.5 to 10" wheels rub the bump stops when we have a car on the rack. Usually, however, when you let the car down the wheel/tire clears the bumpstops fine. Are you just seeing this while the car is on the rack? If so, try like above mentioned and jack the car up by the center section of the rear end and see if the wheel clears like that. More than likely, the rubbing issue is only with the suspension unloaded while on the lift.

so ur saying if the bump stop is inside the rim space, is it safe, cuz im sure if it were lowerd the bump stop would do so

#1 never, evar!!!!!!! buy spacers, you shouldn't need them
#2 research, look in the tire, wheel fitment thread at the top of the forum
alot of rims will hang on the bumpstops, just a fact of life. if you want to run wide rims, you'll have to learn to jack your car up by the pumpkin (like mentioned earlier) or remove your bumpstops, or whole bracket assembly (also mentioned earlier)

Jack it up on the pumpkin the only time the wheels will hit the bumpstop is when you jack it up on the subframes or go airborne
I have the same size and offset trust me.

yep, although you may have to remove it completely depending on how bumpy the roads are around you, it can hit the inside of the rim depending on road conditions.

I had to take off my bumpstops AND cut off part of the bracket on the body. At first I cringed, but realized other people have done it as well.
Check out this link for pics. Scroll down about halfway and look for a green Formula. (Not my car)

EDIT: BTW, I have 5Xmm offset 11" rears. If you had something with a more agressive offset (3Xmm, like a Fikse or TT2), you probably wouldn't have to go cutting on the mounts.
