Boyds vs TT2's for my LT1 Chevelle
Ok guys, for my 1972 LT1 Chevelle (soon be have an LS1), I need to decide what to do for wheels. Either going the Torq Thurst 2 route or going to be different and go with the Boyd's Junk Yard Dog or Smoothie 2. What do u think would look best for this classic car? I'm going with a 17x8 in front and 17x9.5 in back (or 17x10 for Boyds). Thanks!

I would say anything but TT2's. I personally used to love them. When I was looking for rims years ago TT2's were at the top of the list. They werent even out that long yet. Next thing you know, every single person in the contry was buying them and I seen them everywhere. On every type of car. I just wanted to have something a little different. They do look great. There's just to many out there.
I went with the Boyd Blasters, and even to this day, you dont hear of to many people having them. If the market was flooded with them, I'd change them out as well.

I totally agree. I love the look of the TT2 but eveyone seems to have them (for good reason) I just am one of those that wants to be a lil different, hence why I may be getting the JYD.

It depends man...
What do you want the car to look like? My personal preference would be the Boyd's, but that pushes the look of you car towards modern, if you want the old school look go witht the TT2's. Both are great wheels just different period looks, pepole are gonna be going both ways with this one. Both are great choices just figure out if you want the modern or throw back look.

I love the muscle car look, but also a modern look. Definately mainly considering the Boyds, cuz they look good and no one in my area has them. I live in a real small town and I've seen the TT's on a few old cars. Sure I love em, but i think the boyds are a lil more flashy and hold more of a 'wow' factor.

Great to see someone who likes the Boyd's, I've seen so many people go with the TT2's cause everyone tells them too. Oh well I guess that just means those of us that use the Boyd's will be a bit more unique.

hey you with the fikse.. stop making us all wish we could spend 6-700 hundred on a wheel haha.. those are probably my favorite wheels the fm5s and i believe the fm10s that kinda look like bbs's with a huge lip.. but as far as the chevelle.. you know that ttII's are going to look good.. i have yet to see a car that they look bad on, but if i was you, i would take a shot at a new type of wheel or something a little different... something that you wont see 50times at a car show.. are you going for a g-machine type look? whatever you get though, make sure it can fit a wide tire.. the 275front 315 rear looks sick imop especially on a chevelle like yours with straight body lines where you can see under the car pretty well..
