Default ZR1 Wheels, 315s, 38 or 50mm offset?

I have a formula firebird. I seem to find that usually the offsets aren't listed with the pictures, and a lot of them look like the wheels stick out past the fender. That's my main concern, I don't want them sticking out . It'd be nice if you could post a pic with your offset and recommendation! Thanks!

50 mm seems to be what everyone is buying. I was going to go with a set or zr1's with the 50 mm offset but ended up going with a set of TTII's instead.

50 mm here

The 38 mm offset will stick out further than the 50.

Thanks a bunch! That pic says it all, the 50mm looks about right where I want it. Is your car lowered any? If so, what did you do to make the wheels fit?

Any 315 on a Formula is going to appear as if its sticking out too far. Trans Ams have the benefit of the ground effects on the back to shield a little bit of tire from view which makes them appear to have them tucked more. That being said, I love my rims and tires. I have 17x11 TT2s in the back and they are a 45mm offset. The 50mm ZR1s would sit a little bit more inside the wheel well than mine. This is what mine looks like.

My car is lowered about 1.5". I had to do the BFH mod on the inside fender and trim the bump stops. My car did not require the adj phb or having the fenders rolled.

casey02ws6 did you get your ZR1's from TomZWheels? They look relatively close to the original style (as some are more squared off) and I'm just looking to buy 2. If you could let me know I'd appreciate it!

Thanks, i get a lot of compliments on it around here. The rear view is a love it or hate it type situation with the 315s, but i like it. I always liked the "sleeper" look of a formula compared to a T/A, but in my opinion the 315s look better on T/As. I love the looks of your car with the ZR1s. How do you like your TR224 cam? I have one waiting to be installed.

I did get them from TomzWheels. They are the "Factory Reproduction" ones not the OE Concepts he usually sells. Hoever, the pics must be deceiving because they are the squared off ones.
