Stupid Valve Stem Question
I'll be ordering a set of Pro-Stars in the next few days and I love the look of an all-metal valve stem. That being said, check these out:
http://www.jegs.com/webapp/wcs/store...tegoryId=11613
I'm looking at either the top ones (306-2900-4) or the bottom ones (306-2913-4). The only differences I can tell between the two is that one is Outer Bolt Mount, the other is Flush Inner-Bolt Mount; and one is .453/.625" Diameter Valve Stem Hole , the other is .453" Diameter Valve Stem Hole.
Can someone please explain these differences to me and give a recommendation on which I need? 15" Prostars without tubes.
Thanks!

I'd probably go with the inner-nut mount. I've had good luck with them before. I wouldn't have a clue as to the actual size of the hole on the Prostars though. Maybe somebody can measure for you, or call up Jegs and see what they recommend.

I like the outer mount ones better. If the nut ever came loose (slim chance I know) with the inner mount ones the stem would just shoot out I would think. I would also check (if you care) that inner mount ones are NHRA legal like the top mounts are.

Just some advice from me. I had those on my Elky, and since they are chrome and are just a little bit heavier than the sock rubber ones, any time the tires turn it puts a load on the rubber they have a tendacy to crack. I replaced them a few times before I figured it out. I would just go with stock ones, but if you want a show look get them.

If you race at the track with those wheels, you need the bolt on stems to be legal. Sorry i don't know the size. When i ordered mine, I blieve it would work on either size like the 306-2900-4 will.
