Default 18x10.5 c5 z06 - Spacers, BFH, or new wheels?

OK, I bought C5 Z06's 18x9.5 and 18x10.5 and the rears don't fit with the 295's GY GS-D3's i got for the back. REAR WHEEL OFFSET IS +58

I'm using Sam Strano drop springs and these wheels from Tomzwheels won't clear in the back, they rub the inner fender well on the axle side. This is constant rubbing, not only when turning or hitting bumps.

My question is should I run a small spacer (like 10mm), should I just hit the areas that are rubbing with a sledgehammer (and what would that harm), or should i see if Factory reproductions or another wheel from Tomzwheels would have an offset that would space the wheels out slightly more?

Depending on just how much its rubbing, I would first do the BFH mod. If you still don't have enough room then maybe add a small spacer, as long as its small enough so you don't have to roll the fenders or anything.

I went w/ LMP, they sell Z06s 18x9.5/10.5s w/ 53mm offset. I have no rubbing issues.

my 18x10.5s have a +58mm offset. there was no rubbing, but I am also at stock height. I put a 5/16" spacer on the rear, just to bring it out a little (it looked a little sunken in), and there is plenty of room everywhere. The 5/16" spacer is about 8mm thick.

so do people always start with BFH mod, or is it bad and they get spacers first?

I ran 58 mm offset on my convertible, and had to do some minor BFH. I then later added 5/16" spacers, but I'd recommend longer stronger studs with a spacer that thick.

Your "extra" rubbing I'd equate to the GSD3's since they run very wide.

sorry i havent posted here in a while, i still havent resolved this due to lack of time.

I will be trying some BFH on saturday morning, and will recenter my PHB.

Since I plan on road racing and canyon carving often, though, i think a spacer will
be necessary also. But finding the safest spacer and the right thickness will be a task.
Can you help any? what kind of spacer did u use? I want something safe enough for track use... would that be the kind that bolts to the existing studs and has it's own set of studs? How bout the H&R TRAK+ wheel spacers? http://www.hrsprings.com/site/products/trak.html
