Check my calculations
I am about to order some wheels and they make them to my offset/backspacing requirements. The wheel is going to be a 17x11 and after looking at the drawings for backspacing in the stickies, this is what I have calculated, let me know if Im off or spot on:
Backspacing at 7.271653...ect. inches, I rounded up to 7.28" which is 7 7/25". Then that would make the offset 45.212mm (I figured a rounded down number of 45mm would work). I am trying to do the measurements so I wont have to use any spacers of any kind.
Let me know if this will work for a 2002 Z28 t-top car.

Yes, I have them on my car. I am running 315/35-17 Goodyear GS-D3s. I had to do some minor BFH for them to fit. Not really a big deal.
Here's some pictures showing how much the stick out.

New numbers, I am going to go with a 47mm offset which turns out being 7.35" of backspacing. I am still a little confused as to wether it is measured from the wheel lip (overall rim width) to the mounting surface, or from the rim width to the mounting surface. Anyone care to edumacate me?

I am getting wheels made, so I get to choose my offset. You would know that if you actuall read the entire post. I am trying to get the wheels made so I dont have any spacers, and can fit as much wheel/tire in the wheel well with minimal BFH or lip rolling.

American Racing Trakstar's 17x11 for the rear and 17x9.5 for the front.
Anyone recommend a good size/brand front tire? The rears are getting 315/35 r17 drag radials, maybe 325/45 r17's.
