Machined is much rougher than Polished. Machined looks similar to BRUshed aluminum, than it does polished. Polished wheels or sections are very smooth to the touch, while machined wheels still have the rough cut and have not been smoothed down.

Think of machined like the chambers on a ported set of heads or throttlebody, while polished wheels will look similar to chrome.

Have them machined.

Polished wheels look better (in most everyone's opinion), but they are a b!tch to keep clean if you daily drive your car. I personally wouldn't mind a set of machine faced Z06 wheels though.

Nah, the wheels are machined from the manufacturer, just like an engine block gets machined. I suppose you could have them machined somewhere if you really wanted. I just don't know who would/could do that.

Just don't grind them.

But maybe this will help Havok2 also.

How do you guys recommend cleaning machined wheels? I just want to know because I just bought a set of MB Predator wheels for my truck and I'd like to keep them looking good. I know for the TT2's on my T/A you can't just use any cleaner on them or they will dull and you have to keep polishing them. I just want to know if machined wheels are the same or do I just wash them like you would wash a car and thats it.
