Default Weird treadwear on BFG DRs... pics inside...

I've never run a tire this soft, so I need some help with what's normal and what isn't. On these pics, you can see that a portion of my contact patches is like a little raised lip... is this a problem? These are BFG DRs in 315/35/17 that I run on the street and commuting every once in a while on the freeway... usually about 26 psi in them. Perhaps 2000 miles on these with zero burnouts. I do break traction regularly, though.

Am I OK on these tires? Or should I be concerned?

Thanks in advance for any help.

Maybe it has something to do with the 648 Torque?

I had the same "problem" with my 275 Falkens in the back. It was fine up untill I first started to do Burn-outs. You stated that you have done zero burnouts though so I really don't know what to tell ya.

I'm guessing it has to do with the amount of power you are putting down along with the "grip" or "stickiness" of the BFG's.

That is the way mine wore. It is because the tire is so soft. Hard acceleration cause wear on them as well as burnouts. If you are worried about it switch sides with the wheels. It will do the same thing in the opposite direction.

thats normal, i sell them where a i work. i also have a few buddies who are running and thats common on there's as well. like JGKadell said above, because of the soft rubber compound.

Thanks for all the replies. Do you guys run these down until there's almost no channel left? Anyone know how much tread depth there is left when the tire looks like a slick?

if youve ever done a burnout with regular tires, i mean a good burnout, theyll do that too but the soft rubber that leaves that mark just falls off after driving. basically its just like the shavings of an eraser except the treads so soft its sticky.
