Default Which drag radial (M/T or BFG) has the longest street life?

I have Nitto 555R drag radials on my car and I'm to the point where they no longer can hook up the power I make. I'm looking to get either BFGs or M/T drag radials, but I cannot afford to have a separate pair of rims and tires just to race on, nor do I feel like hauling them to the track. Since I drive the crap out of my car, I want to get the tires that have the longest street life. So, if you have experience with either, post up!

I have ran both and I really like the Mickeys. It really depends on how you drive. I have seen some people get over 10,000 miles out of their MT's and then others only get 1,000.

If I were you I would just go with some MT Street Radials, but good luck finding any drag radial right now man.

I have had both the M/T and BFG's. The Mickeys seem to last alot longer on the street. They actually have a deeper tread than the BFG's. That being said, neither will get you much more than 5k on the street. I do have another set of wheels now for the track and run the Nitto's most of the time.

My Nittos didn't last for ****, and I only raced with them a few times. Now I just run BFG KDWS's on the street (last forever) and M/T's at the track. I've always heard that BFG's will last longer on the street, but the responses above shot that one down. Looks like M/T's are you best choice.

My vote is for M&H radials. I have the 325/45/17''s they work better than any MT radial I have used an they work better than the 28x13.5 et streets I had on my car. They drive nice on the highway and seems people get good life out of them

Well, I'm stuck with a 17X9" rim, so a 275/40/17 is the biggest I can fit on it safely. As far as I know, M&H doesn't make a drag radial in that size.

Big Rapids, MI? I graduated from Ferris a few years back, good times and lots of memories. Stay away from Shooters, that place will get you in trouble.

Anyways, just got my second pair of M/T radials on Saturday (255/16's) and I will not buy anything else. They lasted around 7K miles and 40-50 track runs. When new, they even do decent in the rain. Best part about the tires is that you do not have to do a big burnout to make them hook. They hardley even spin when I hit it from a stop light (1.64 60ft's). Thats my recomendation FWIW.

I've been in BR my whole life almost, so I already know to stay away from Shooters. That place is a shithole anyway. I haven't been there in 5 years. I'll have to see what the consensus is on which brand to get after the poll is up awhile. I won't be purchasing tires until this spring, so I'm not concerned about any shortages.

The M&H 325/45R17 will fit perfect on a 17x9. I was going to run them on a 17x9.5 Fikse.

They run EXTREMELY narrow, worse than the Nitto's.

That is exactly right!

It just honestly depends on how you drive it. But if your main goal is getting some traction I would go with M/T's. But to answer your question my opinion is the BFG's are better mileage!

i had nittos with over 50 track runs and 12K miles on them and still have them now there are at there wear point which is y i need some tires.
my bro had the mickeys he only received 6K miles on them with bout 30 track runs and that might be pushing the track run time.
he also had bfg which made about 9k miles and 25 track runs only.
well if ur a street racer the nitto is really hard to hook
mickey hooks anywhere but rain
bfg hooked anywhere as well but less tread life than mickey
all in all let ur pocket do the talkin and ur desire for street or strip

Dude they should be considered in the following order Best to Worst - PERIOD!

Longevity : Nitto's - BFG's - MT's
Traction : Mt's - BFG's - Nitto's

DONE!
