I always use meguiars wheel cleaner to get off any brake dust, and then detailer spray for light cleanings.

Eh, save money and just use whatever you wax your car with. Comes out shiny enough to blind someone. If it doesn't satisfy you then spend the bank on chrome polish.

chrome polish will remove the junk that builds up on chrome rims (brake dust, and light rust specs) wax normally won't (or at least that is my expierence with older chrome wheels and such)

But is it bad for the rims to use the wax or polish often?

for wheels, choose a wheel cleaner that is right for the kind of wheels u have. for polishing, again, use something that is safe for your wheels. I use DP wheel glaze it's a cleaner and polish/protectant

i would suggest if you can get a hold of this. Its a special product that is only sold at big car shows. They will demonstrate the product in front of you and take a coke can the bottom of it and shine it to almost look chrome. I cant remember the name of the product but you get the chrome polish and chrome wax. It was like 30 dollars for the two bottles but well worth it. I took it home but me some chrome zr1's that needed restored, and after using this product one time made the wheels look brand new.

alright i just looked it up, and its called master formula metal gloss, you can get the polish and the wax, best **** i have ever used, coats your wheels with a sweet *** shine. Now this is for chrome wheels that need to just be polished up and waxed. If you have like years of wet spots and stuff like that, I used nano chrome polish on some old wheels that had been sitting for a year in a barn collecting who knows what, 4 hours later, those things were looking brand spanking new. then use the master formula.
