427-CI LSX Twin Turbo Chevy Truck Pulls The Wheels: Big Boost Inside

By -

Even the lightest, regular cab, short box, modern trucks can tip the scales around 4000 pounds. With an aerodynamic profile more akin to a barn door, the cards are stacked against owners who want a fast truck. And yet it doesn’t stop many LS-heads from adding big motors, even bigger boost and defying the laws of physics with a seriously stout truck.

In search of some fast pickups I bumped into this one from the 2012 Truck Shootout from an owner who goes by the handle, “Turbomic.” The truck is claimed to have a 427 LSX under the hood with two Turbonetics 76mm snails hanging off each bank of cylinders. The result? Shades of daylight under the front tires en route to a best pass (in the video at least) of mid 9s at 144 mph.
