Few things in the car world are as cool as a high horsepower naturally-aspirated combo. Sure power adders are cool, but there’s something to be said for using nothing more than stoich and a highly tuned combo to make big power. Kinda like Bobby Weige’s C6 Z06 that ran 201.4 MPH at the Texas mile, beating many boosted Vettes in the process.

Of course this high-horsepower creation didn’t happen by accident, starting with the 13.8:1 468-CI motor featuring a sleeved block, forged rotating assembly, Sonny Bryant crank, a huge 25x/26x 108+2 Comp hydraulic roller cam, ported LS7 heads that are said to flow over 430 CFM, a heavily massaged FAST 102 intake manifold, Vararam CAI, long-tubes and sipping on Shell URT fuel. The combo put down 684 WHP and 626 LB-FT on a Mustang Dyno and is claimed have more power hiding under the hood if a sheet-metal intake manifold joined the party.

Have a look at the thread. She’s an impressive beast!

You'd never guess what sort of monster lurks beneath those valve covers.

The 468 CI motor is good for 684 WHP and 626 LB-FT on a Mustang Dyno without the help of a power adder.
