Blue Ford Mustang Gets Smoked by First Gen Camaro!
What is there not to love about the drag strip? Sure, some people don’t like that the race is just a straight line. We’ll listen to them when they actually prove themselves at the track.
Even so, testing the ability of the car and the skill of the driver is always exciting, whether you’re at the drag strip or the circuit. And let’s face it — LS powered cars are a force to be reckoned with at the races! LS is king, as always.
Even so, this blue Mustang “Cobra Jet” didn’t seem to get that memo. Though more modern and “better” in the eyes of some, this baby blue Ford stood no chance when faced with its opponent — a first generation Chevrolet Camaro!
The red Camaro beat this Mustang both times that the two cars raced. The first time around the Chevy got a time of 4.97 seconds, whereas the Mustang got a time nearly a second off with 5.88 seconds. The second time around the number were a bit closer, with the Camaro at 5.04 and the Mustang at 5.32. Nonetheless, it is clear who the true winner was!
Strangely, the video below seems to be trying to speak positively about the blue Ford Mustang, despite it being beaten twice within the length of the clip.
Of course, it does scrape its bumper and do a superb wheelie. We’ll give it that, though nothing else. Hang time does not always equate to a better time, though we won’t deny that it’s fun!
