C6 Corvette Z06 Falls off Lift in Somebody’s Worst Day Ever

C6 Corvette Z06 Falls off Lift

Obviously disgusted with himself, the tech that failed to strap down this C6 Corvette Z06 simply walks away.

We’ve all had bad days in our lives, some much worse than others. But we can’t imagine having a worse day – at work, anyway – than the technician in this video from Corvette Shorts & More. The tech was simply trying to lift up a customer’s C6 Corvette Z06 to perform some work on it when the car suddenly tips backward and falls off the lift, causing considerable damage in the process. It’s a harrowing thing to watch, and the tech’s reaction is every bit as priceless.

In the video, it’s clear that the engine of the C6 Corvette Z06 has been removed, which obviously makes it pretty tail heavy. The tech looks to have done everything right, placing the lift arms in the proper spots underneath the car, but he did not take into account the fact that it was missing a pretty heavy part of the Corvette that resides in the very front. The solution for this problem, obviously, is to strap the car down before lifting it up or at least check its stability first, but that didn’t happen here.

That one simple mistake proved fatal, as the poor Corvette didn’t make it that far up in the air before it immediately fell backward off the lift. The rear bottom portion of the car smacks the shop floor before the front comes smashing down, destroying the fiberglass fenders in the process. The tech, obviously angry at himself or just bewildered by the situation, simply walks away, perhaps to question his life choices or scan the help wanted ads.

On the bright side, he doesn’t appear to be hurt, which is obviously a good thing. This scene could have played out much differently had the technician been standing elsewhere. And while we’re sure the owner of the C6, as well as the management/ownership of this facility, won’t be terribly pleased to learn what happened, that’s why insurance exists. And on the flip side, if he’s still employed, we’re betting the tech never forgets to strap an engineless Corvette down on a lift ever again.
