Vortech YSI Blown TPI IROC Camaro Goes 10.58 @ 134MPH
There just aren’t enough tastefully modded AND fast third generation F-bodies out there. So when we come across a solid example, it’s worth taking notice, which would explain why when we stumbled onto member NufNuffZ28’s ’87 IROC Camaro we had to give it some coverage. Why? Because it’s bad news. How bad? Try 10.50s @ 134 MPH in the quarter mile with a claimed 955 lb-ft (we’re unsure if that’s at the crank or the wheels).
The bullet between the fenders is as OG as they come, a built TPI, but it’s fortified with forged internals, AFR heads and is force-fed big boost from a cogged Vortech YSI blower.
If the 80s soft-rock ballad in the cabin during the drag racing isn’t cool enough, the fact it’s a street driven, stick car is all the better. Oh yeah, it’s also a TPI and it’s fast–that’s even more street cred! Bravo, sir. This is one awesome third Gen.
