Camaro Fail: Young Man Crashes ZL1 Into Community Pool

It’s easy to hate the guy that did this before even knowing what happened. That’s a ZL1 after all. Chevy doesn’t build a Camaro with more horsepower than that one. Still, it’s not a track toy like the Z/28. It belongs out there on the street, driving around, serenading suburbs with the happy sound of a 580 horsepower V8. It belongs on the quarter mile leaving Mustangs in the dust. There’re several scenarios in which the ZL1 will meet and exceed expectations. That’s just the kind of car it is.

It is not, however, the kind of car that does well underwater.

Reports are saying this was a young driver, possible a teenager. According to investigators, the driver was going too fast, lost control, plowed through the fence and into the pool.
