Chevrolet Chevy Camaro SS 1LE vs. Ford Mustang GT Performance Pack Comparison Review 2018 2019 Muscle Cars Sports Cars America American LS1tech.com Jake Stumph

And the Winner Is?

The Mustang proved charming despite it’s notable quirks, however, the winner is very clear. In the battle between the Camaro SS 1LE and Mustang GT Performance Pack, the winner is the Camaro SS 1LE.

While I had no qualms about handing the keys back to Ford, the same couldn’t be said about the Chevy. I have driven a lot of insane cars, but this fifty grand Chevy is one of the best, regardless of price. The brand has managed to capture lightning in a bottle with the Camaro SS 1LE. From the perfect powertrain to the driver-centric interior to the incredible handling and driving dynamics, the Chevy dominated the Ford. The Chevy spanked the Ford so hard I’m surprised the quarter panels didn’t buckle.

Looking beyond the Chevy versus Ford thing, I do have one last note about the Camaro SS 1LE. My last thought is that performance junkies should skip the 2SS, and spec your 1LE with the standard 1SS Camaro. That’s an extra $5,000 you can put towards fuel, tires and track days. Trust me, with the 1LE, you’ll be doing a lot of smiles per gallon.
