Cool Stuff from the 2012 Performance Racing Industry Tradeshow

The 25th Annual Performance Racing Industry (PRI) show in Orlando, FL this  Nov.29-Dec.1, 2012 was a little smaller than in past years, in part perhaps, due to aftereffects of Sandy or to the announcement roughly a week earlier that the PRI show would be merging with the International Motorsports Industry Show (IMIS) next year, and the whole thing would be moving back up to the Indianapolis convention center instead of remaining in sunny Orlando.

Dedicated to the racing industry – pro, amateur and hobbiest – PRI is a mix of performance parts, media, instructional opportunities and really cool cars built by a variety of the assembled brands. For instance the Trans Am at the top of the page is the 06 Lopesport Racing/Mobil One/Goodyear Tires/Optica Lopez/I104.5 La Radio Joven/ECR Engines/Meissen Engineering C6 Corvette displayed at the Advanced Composite Products booth, who created the hood. Big names like Chevy, Ford, Brembo, Holley and GoPro display side by side with small industry-specific publications, lubricant developers, harness manufacturers and trailer companies, to name a few.

The show is a chance for manufacturers, vendors, buyers, and the public to check out the latest in racing parts and technology, and to talk to each other about their love for the industry and for speed in general with others who share that passion.

Check out a few of the things we saw, including a variety of new oil pan types from AED, a Sunoco sponsored racing Corvette, shiny red racing clutches from McLeod, teenagers competing to put together a hot rod engine, and a new Mustang on its side to demonstrate innovations in suspension and engineering.  Our gallery below represents merely a taste of the show, so go to PRI’s official site to really revel in the details.
