Crazy Callaway Camaro LT1 Pushes 630 HP for Under $54K

By -

For a Chevrolet Camaro LT1 trim, Callaway’s SC630 package churns out stock ZL1-rivaling power for considerably less.

Connecticut-based tuner Callaway Cars has taken Chevy’s lowest-tier V8 Camaro and has turned it into something entirely wicked.

Callaway’s SC630 package uses a supercharger with Gen 3 TVS2300 rotors and a Callaway-patented triple pass intercooler. What’s more, a new high-flow intake and tune gives this Camaro an unreal 630 horsepower and 610 lbs-ft of torque. And that is just the beginning.

For the most part, Callaway seems to have kept the LT1 trim true to form. As in, no flashy lights, redesigned front fascia or anything extraneous. They keep things grassroots with the the SC630, and that “driver’s car” attitude is respectable in every way.

Of course, the only way you could tell the difference between this and a stock LT1 is in the badging. That, and some in-cabin modifications including door sill panels, seat badging, and floor mats. Lastly, it just wouldn’t be complete without a unique, under-the-hood build plaque.

For most, this is more than enough go-fast to relish on for the street. For those who have “the powerbug” and need more than 630 HP, Callaway also has a SC750 Camaro ZL1 and standalone upgrade kit. This car, while modified with all the same upgrades as the lesser SC630 model, churns out 750 hp and 739 lb-ft.

Callaway says its SC630 Camaro is the “most powerful new car in the world under $54,000.” While we know this isn’t technically true, this package is a pretty killer deal. New cars come with full factory warranty, 36,000 miles/three years, and GM keeps track of Callaway vehicles in their warranty system database by VIN.
