CTS-V with Hand Controls Allows Paralyzed Driver to Run 9’s

Bryan Hart was paralyzed in an ATV accident, but that didn’t stop him from making monster pulls on the strip.

There isn’t much that can hold Bryan Hart back. After being paralyzed two years ago, Hart set out to keep his passion for motorsports alive. Though his accident happened on an ATV, he still loves all things piston powered. Now, the drag strip is a place he can call home due to a Vengeance Racing built CTS-V unlike any you’ve ever seen before.

Hand-controls allow Hart to drive the Magnuson-supercharged CTS-V. This combo, “helps get me out there and keep doing the things I love, get adrenaline and keep racing,” according to Hart.

Hart is in control of quite a monster, too. Hart says, “as it sits right now, its making about 850 horsepower. The guys at Vengeance Racing really know to build a car.” As a cool feature to this video, we get to see Hart’s CTS-V build evolve over time, including how it started black and then got wrapped matte pearl white. But it’s the hardware that’s the coolest part.

With the supercharger and a plethora of supporting mods, Hart loves his ride, saying, “things that surprised me with the build would be drivability, reliability and power.”

Power from that CTS-V is properly used, too. “My best 1/4 mile time at the moment is a 9.96 at 138, and best half mile is 168. We’re just getting started so keep an eye out for us,” Hart proudly states. Not bad for hand-controls, especially seeing things from the in-car video.

If you find this inspiration, that’s no coincidence, as Hart enjoys that aspect of overcoming challenges. He puts it best, saying, “it’s really my way of telling people that the fun goes on, even if you hit a few speed bumps along the way. Just have to roll over them and keep going.”
