Texas tuner extraordinaire Hennessey Performance has consistently been pushing the high-performance envelope. But their Venom GT was a revelation: a sleek, solid gold supercar with ferocious LS might.

Using a twin-turbocharged LS7 V8, the 1,244 hp Venom GT was inspired by the Lotus Elise…and presumably a supernova. It had blistering speed and exceptional performance. So exceptional that it broke many records and was named the fastest road-legal car by Guinness World Record in a 270 mph run that makes us weak in the knees.

The LS7 V8 propelled the Venom GT to what seemed to be impossible limits. Creating the perfect union of supercar and V8 brawn, the Venom GT was not only one of fastest series-produced vehicles–it remains one of the coolest.
