This rather enticing LSX V8 build was shockingly stolen mere days after it was listed for sale.

The LS1Tech Marketplace is a great place to find all sorts of items, whether they be individual parts, engines, gearboxes, and even entire cars, of course. We routinely sift through the list of offerings with a keen eye, usually because, well, we might just be doing a little shopping ourselves. However, one particular item recently listed for sale in the Marketplace – this fully-built, race-prepped 447 LSX V8 – isn’t exactly available anymore, and not because someone bought it – but rather, it was stolen straight out of the owner’s garage, unfortunately.

This particular LSX V8 is nitrous ready and was built with a variety of aftermarket parts for racing purposes, which means that it’s chock full of good stuff. Internally, that list includes Oliver’s rods, a Callies crank, CP dished pistons, Jesel mechanical roller keyway lifters, Jesel shaft rockers, a Comp Cams camshaft, and All-Pro LSW-12 heads with titanium intakes and stainless steel exhaust valves.

Just this year, the seller added a vast array of goodies to this LSX V8 build, too. It’s been treated to Comp Cams pushrods, springs, steel retainers, and titanium locks, a Melling oil pump, billet double roller timing set, a front cover with drains for a twin turbo setup, ARP studs, Clever main and rod bearings, a Brian Tooley Racing Trinity LS7 intake with a 102mm throttle body, and billet fuel rails, to name just a few.

It’s certainly one heck of a combo for the asking price of $26,000, but shockingly, just a few days after listing the engine for sale, it was stolen from the owner’s garage. The seller noted that it was stored in his detached garage while they were sleeping, and the neighbors weren’t home. Luckily, at least, their dog seems to have scared off the thief before they went back to take anything else.

It’s an unfortunate story, but one that may wind up having a semi-happy ending, at least. Another LS1Tech member recently noted that they believe police wound up locating this powerplant, so hopefully, it’s still in good shape.
