GM Releases Specs On New 2014 EcoTec3 V6 And V8 Engines.

The new, all aluminum L83 5.3L V8 sports VVT, AFM, DI and a lofty 11:1 compression ratio.

The all new LT1, the letter designation GM is giving the latest successor to the LS series of motors is going to be a serious contender with variable valve timing, direct injection and sky-high compression ratios that will bring their latest pushrod motors into 2014 and beyond. Whoever proclaimed the pushrod motor to be dead is eating their words!

The new, all aluminum LV3 4.3L V6 sports VVT, AFM, DI and a lofty 11:1 compression ratio.

In true GM fashion the latest motors will be released in their trucks first and according to the GM Media site they’re releasing three new motors, a 4.3L V6 and two V8s, a 5.3L and a 6.2L. As we previously stated, the motors are all aluminum, are DI, have VVT and even AFM. The 4.3L V6 will be known as the LV3 while the 5.3L V8 will be called the L83 and the big boy 6.2L V8 will be called the L86.

Behold the new, all aluminum L86 6.2L V8 that sports VVT, AFM, DI and a lofty 11.5:1 compression ratio.
