Tell me what you remember of your grandmother? Or for those that still have their grandmothers with them, tell me what they are like? Sweet, kind, matronly women that bake cookies, give you pep talks, and are always there if you need them. Sure they drive big boat-like cars and only go about 40 mph, but that just how all grandmothers drive right? Well, maybe not so much.

A few weeks ago, the 2015 Sun Valley Road Rally was held, and during the event, the organizers shut down a public road so the racers could unleash their cars and use them to their full potential. The rally saw three Bugatti Veyrons unleashed, and in what’s possibly the best story coming out of it, a C5 Corvette driven by none other than Shirley Veine, a grandmother who’s 82 years old.

On the derestricted section of highway, Veine hit 171 miles per hour in her own C5 Corvette and she’s not happy about it. Veine was actually shooting for 175 miles per hour, but a crosswind held her back. To make the story even better, Veine was doing this to help the Blaine County Community Drug Coalition, making her not only a badass, but also just as sweet as a regular grandmother would be as well. Mrs. Veine, we tip our hats to you and rev our engines. You’re our kind of lady.
