Inside scoop: Dart’s new LS block almost complete. 8000 rpm dyno inside.

We got wind that Dart’s new LS block was nearly complete and a recent dyno session with a 434-cubic inch version confirmed our suspicions! The motor made 740 hp at, wait for it…7000 rpm! But that’s not all, it carried the peak hp a loooooooong way. How long, how about 690 hp at 8,000 rpm…with a hydraulic roller cam! Oh yeah, it also made 610 lb-ft of torque, too. Said motor achieves its displacement from a bore and stroke of 4.155-inch x 4-inch.
As with all Dart blocks, it certainly will be top notch and according to insiders, their goals were to reduce windage and improved lubrication. Follow the link for the scoop or have a look at some of the specs below.
