Off-Road Corvette Is the Most American Thing You Will See Today

Off-Road Corvette

How do you make a 6-speed manual LS3 Corvette even cooler? Lift it, throw some all-terrain tires on it and make it an off-road Corvette.

Why should rich people have all the fun? Porsche and Lamborghini each sell lifted, off-road versions of their sports cars. They are brilliant but the problem is only those in the 1 percent club can afford them. And it is unlikely that those that do buy them will ever let them see a speck of dirt. However, there is a solution. A less expensive solution. A more American solution. How about an LS3-powered off-road Corvette? 430 horsepower. 6-speed manual transmission. Fox suspension and all-terrain tires. All for $23,000.

The car was recently posted for sale on Facebook marketplace. And as you would expect, it quickly sold. Apparently, there is a market for an off-road Corvette. And why wouldn’t there be? It might not be the best solution for tearing around an autocross course or a drag strip. But you can rip down some dirt roads and turn a lot of heads while doing it. All for less than what you would pay in taxes for a Lamborghini or Porsche equivalent.

Trail Boss

2013 Corvette Trail Boss

This car is all about whimsical fun. As if the lifted suspension and big tires were not your first clue, there are more subtle details. For example, the Trail Boss stickers along the rear fenders. The Trail Boss is of course a reference to the more off-road ready Chevy Silverado.

The car rides on Toyo Open Country tires all-terrain tires. The fenders were cut in order to make them fit, but it seems to be a rather clean job. The car is also fitted with a winch, light bars and hitch receiver. According to the ad the car drives great. As it should as the LS3 under the hood appears to be untouched. And the LS3 is one of the best engines ever fitted to the Corvette.

Car History

The builder of the car originally sold it to a YouTuber. But like most YouTubers, after filming a bit of content he had no use for it, so he sold it back to the builder. The builder then held a contest to give it away as a prize. But the contest winner decided to go for the cash option instead of the car. So, it was listed for sale again. Hopefully the new owner holds onto it for a while.

Next Up

In the ad for this off-road Corvette the seller mentions the reason why he wants it gone. Apparently, he is now building a C7 Z06 ZR2. Yes, the ZR2 is again a reference to the Chevy truck off-road trim. We cannot wait to see that beast. If this C6 off-road Corvette was not wild enough for you, a C7 Z06 version might be exactly what you are looking for. We applaud this man for giving the world a more affordable off-road sports car. Not all heroes wear capes.
