What Made You Buy a C7 Corvette Over the Viper?

2014 SRT Viper TA (Time Attack)

The Dodge Viper, the last icon that Carrol Shelby did consulting work on for Dodge before he went back to working on Fords. A car that is legendary in its hardcore design and track-appeal.

A car you’d expect to sell relatively well as a domestic supercar but fell very short for 2014 over the new C7 Stingray. What’s going on with the Dodge supercar?

There are many people that put the blame on poor sales on the lack of an automatic option. Some blame the SRT nameplate that it bore for a few years instead of the Dodge. Some blame the price with a starting point of $102,485.

However, many more look towards the introduction of the C7 Corvette. The C7 has an automatic version, is nearly half the price, and is still a Chevrolet instead of GM Performance or SS branded car.

So, we want to know, what influenced you guys who had your eyes on both models on why you decided to go towards the C7? We’re looking for you who have either made the purchase of the C7 or are waiting on the C7 version of the ZO6 and not the diehard loyal guys who have bought nothing but Corvettes. What was it about the Viper that didn’t appeal to you?
