New Camaro SS to Dominate All Muscle Cars
The new Camaro is just around the corner, and some outlets have already been privy to the new sports coupe. However, what they are finding out is that the new Camaro is one serious piece of performance.
According to MotorTrend and Car and Driver, the new Camaro SS is one of the performance bargains of the century. 0-60 is only a tenth off the Z51 C7 Corvette. Quarter mile is only two tenths off. However, it’s in the skid pad where the new Camaro SS shows its aptitude.
In the last generation Camaro Z/28, a racecar built for the road, a car that has so much grip it ripped the tires off the test mules, around the MotorTrend skid pad, it achieved a time of 23.6 seconds. The new Camaro SS, 24.1. That’s truly astounding, especially for it being a bog-standard Camaro SS.
While MotorTrend hasn’t tested the new Mustang GT350R on the skid pad just yet, after seeing these numbers, Ford definitely has to be shaking in their boots. Imagine, if this is what a normal SS can do, what will the next generation Z/28 be able to achieve?
