New Hennessey 2020 ZL1 1LE Boasts Crazy Power

The current generation ZL1 Camaro is a hell of a car. It turns, accelerates, and brakes with unprecedented capability. It’s a complete package, you can go turn it up to 11 at the track and thrash it for a whole day without issue and then turn the MagneRide suspension to comfort mode and drive home in a plush and dampened ride. Not many cars on the market can offer this level of performance at this price point and really do think the ZL1 is a special car.
However, there are those that might want just a little bit more of their personal Camaro and that’s where Hennessey Performance steps in. The Texan tuning company needs no introduction, they have been on the scene making the most badass builds for years now and don’t seem to plan on stopping anytime soon. The HPE850 package offered for the 2017-2020 Camaro ZL1 is exactly what we are talking about. Thanks to Hennessey Performance on YouTube, we get to learn more about what makes this package worthwhile.
First of all, its good to know that this HPE850 upgrade is offered with a two-year/24,000-mile directly from Hennessey for your precious LT4 V8. The package offers to no surprise, 850 wheel horsepower and 860 wheel torque, with performance figures of a 2.7 second 0-to-60 mph time and a quarter-mile speed of 10.4 seconds at 135 mph. It is important to note that these figures are achieved on a prepped drag strip with drag radial tires. We estimate you’ll for sure be doing a couple seconds or minutes worth of burnouts if you try to launch this thing off the line with stock tires.
So what exactly is included in the HPE850 package to get the ZL1 to these power figures reliably? A lower pulley upgrade, custom heads, a custom heat-exchanger, completely upgraded valvetrain, an intake system, headers, high-flow cats, and a custom cam. Hennessey will do the installation as well as dyno test the vehicle to ensure proper performance.
