No Prep Trans Am Beats Everyone, Even When It’s On Fire

By -

Nothing is going to stop this Trans Am from taking home trophies at Street Car Takeover. Not even a fire!

No prep racing is a dicey proposition all on its own. Instead of flinging your high-horse machine down a sticky track, you’re essentially operating on virgin pavement. Or at least, as close to actual streets as possible. The idea is, in fact, to try and replicate street racing conditions. Without pesky things like pedestrians, other drivers, and law enforcement, of course. But if you’re looking for a no prep racer with extra large cajones, look no further than Josh Pratt and his killer Trans Am.

BigKleib34 was there in the flesh at Bowling Green’s Street Car Takeover to witness all the action. And right from the start, Pratt’s Trans Am stands out. The silver bullet takes on all comers, knocking them down one after another. Granted, one of his opponents, a fourth-gen Camaro, seems to break on the line. But many of these races are hotly contested.

Yep, life is good for Pratt and his super sweet Trans Am. At least for a while. Heck, he barely edges out a Fox Body Mustang for the win on day one. Day two rolls around, and it’s more of the same. Line ’em up, knock ’em down. He cruises all the way to the finals once again with little resistance. Things, however, got a little hot on the last run. But Pratt still got away with the win, even with a little fire under the hood.

An impressive result, indeed. But as Pratt explains, this success has been a long time in the making. He even admits that his car is still “pretty heavy.” With some offseason changes in the works, you can bet we’ll be watching to see how much better this already fast Trans Am can get!
