Pennzoil Presents Dyno Wednesday: 944 LS1 With 414 RWHP

The 944’s point and shoot handling have made it a popular track toy—but it’s far from the fastest thing to leave Stuttgart. In turbo trim, Porsche’s entry level coupe peaked at a 250HP, which was respectable back in that day, but pales in comparison to the 414HP this race-ready LS1-powered example is putting down on the dyno.

Larry Roberts from Phoenix Performance is responsible for the motor, which still sports the stock intake, but features a 228R cam, Precision Race Components Stage 2 heads and—according to the Youtube description— “all the extra goodies.” No mention is made of any mods to the gauge cluster, but under wide open throttle something tells me I’d be looking for an altimeter. This baby must go like a rocket ship.
