The 24 Hours of Le Mans is a demanding race for man, machine, and the crew behind each car. You begin work months in advance, test constantly for the high speeds of the Mulsanne Straight, and prepare your guys for the rigors of staying up for over 24 hours straight Pratt & Miller, the team that builds the Corvette C7.R for Corvette Racing, shares a video that gives a very short look into some of that preparation.

Dan Binks

It starts with high speed testing at Wurtsmith Airport in Oscoda, Michigan. Interestingly, the test driver is none other than Dan Binks, crew chief of Corvette Racing. That’s interesting to note that it’s not one of the drivers who are going to be in the car for the 24 Hours of Le Mans. After that, the cars are transported back to New Hudson, Michigan where Pratt & Miller are located for teardown and loading on the planes to fly out to Circuit de la Sarthe for the 24 Hours of Le Mans.

It’s an interesting look that we don’t get to see very often and hopefully we’ll see a much longer video sometime in the future about the preparation for the 24 Hours!
