Update: Corvette Museum Honors Sinkhole

It’s been two years since mother earth tried to deprive us humans from some of the most iconic and coolest Corvettes to roll out of Bowling Green. Thankfully, smart PR and good ‘ole fashion ‘Vette love have turned things around for the best.

A 40th anniversary Corvette, ZR1 Spyder, ZR1 ‘Blue Devil’, PPG Pace Car, 1-millionth, and a gorgeous 1962 Corvette were all victims of such natural disaster. And while most vehicles have been restored under the scrutiny of GM’s master historians, the whole situation still made us shed some tears.

The National Corvette Museum opened a brand new exhibit this Friday, in which it will pay homage to the sinkhole and explain to visitors the painstaking process to fill the whole, and restore the cars.

Museum management claims that although the sinkhole was indeed a terrible misfortune, it brought the media’s attention back to the Corvette town of Bowling Green, and increased the public’s attention and admission to all things Corvette.
