V8 Unicorn: Cadillac CT6-V Blackwing Pops Up for Sale

With a 550-horsepower twin-turbocharged V8, the CT6-V Blackwing is the rare, fierce, and forgotten Cadillac super sedan.
Without a doubt, you’re familiar with the massively praised Cadillac CT-5 V Blackwing. With a supercharged V8, rear-wheel drive layout, and an available manual transmission, it stands out as a bit of an enigma in the 2025 automotive market. However, it isn’t the only V8-powered Cadillac in recent history to wear the Blackwing badge. Its brother, the CT6-V Blackwing, is a rare and radical beast that features a twin-turbocharged V8, and Cadillac didn’t make many of them.
Now, though, if you want a piece of that rarity, you’ve got an opportunity. That is, if you’ve got the funds and you’re seeing this article before it sells. This 2019 Cadillac CT6-V Blackwing is currently for sale on Cars.com. With an asking price of $56,779, it’s seriously worth your consideration.

Twin-Turbo V8, AWD, and One of Few
Exactly how many CT6-V Blackwing models left the Cadillac assembly line is a bit difficult to nail down. Various sources offer various answers, but it’s generally accepted that fewer than 1,500 exist. So, if you’re after a fairly unique future classic, this thing definitely checks all the boxes. If the rarity alone doesn’t do it for you, though, the specs just might.
Under the hood is a twin-turbo 4.2-liter V8 engine. For those unaware, this engine is the origin of the “Blackwing” name. In the CT-6 V, it puts out a potent 550 horsepower and 640 pound-feet of torque according to MotorTrend. Despite its 4,500-pound curb weight, this all-wheel-drive monster can still sprint to 60 mph in just 3.8 seconds. While that’s impressive, this Blackwing offers more than just punchy power and brutal acceleration.

Huge Handling Performance
It’s no secret that Cadillac engineers actively take aim at the likes of BMW and Mercedes. The CT6-V Blackwing is no exception. A lot of power is useless without a way to put it down. While powering all four wheels helps, the active Magnetic Ride Control onboard, combined with its advanced track-focused four-wheel steering system, ensures that this is far more than a luxury ride. It’s an outright performance sedan. Frankly, it’s a big bummer that this car didn’t sell well.
Maybe it’s because it wasn’t available with a manual transmission. Maybe it’s because the base price was $95,000 to $99,000 when new. Moreover, perhaps it’s because its production from 2019 to 2020 was interrupted by the COVID-19 pandemic. We can’t really say why it was a bit of a flop. What we can say, though, is that almost 50 percentge off, it’s a hell of a lot of car for the money. Someone is going to have a blast with this thing.
