New best for small bore stroker.
My 97 S10 is full weight except for a fiberglass hood and has a 421 (4.030 x 4.125). The Junkyard Dog was fast but terribly inconsistent last year with times ranging from 10.30's to 10.60's depending on track conditions. With the turbo 350, my starting line ratio was just simply way too high. The winter plan was to hopefully go a little faster but also become much more consistent. So over the winter I went with a set of AFR LS3 Mongoose heads and a slightly bigger cam from Tony Mamo, and switched to a new powerglide from FTI with a 1.98 first gear. I also finally put in a 8 point roll cage for safety, so I picked up some weight there. Yesterday I finally got to race and went 10.26 right off the trailer but more importantly it was 10.26 to to 10.29 all day long. All test and tunes at our track this year have been canceled due to rain so once I finally get to TNT and play with the launch rpm and tire pressures, it will pick up. Maybe even break the 9's in cool fall air.

Made 48 more rwhp on the same dyno, but ET wise it's not a fair comparison. I ran a 10.33 in with a 3 speed automatic in 45 degree weather with 50% humidity. Yesterday I went 10.26 in with a 2 speed automatic in 69 degree weather and 98% humidity with absolutely no test and tune on the new set up plus added weight of a new roll cage. It will get faster after it's dialed in. I'm just happy to pick up some ET and be on a more consistent set up.

These might be the first results I have seen on the AFR ls3 heads. Nice
Edit -- got any dyno graphs you can share?

Thanks Darth, I believe I would have seen even more return with a larger bore motor. I don't ever get a copy of my dyno results simply because they can be manipulated to easily to mean a lot, track numbers are the only thing that carries any value to me. Up next is a LOD Speedworks intake.

i assume you started 6.0 block? im curious in doing the same set up except a 4.070 lsa block and 4" stroke. how do you think your motor will live racing? do you street or drive this at all i assume no cause the glide?? do you tear it down every year? i really want to stroke my ls3 but people are against it and say get better heads and use the money elsewhere for same or close power for FI. But i can get a stroker kit under 2k right now thanks nice truck btw im trying to hit 10s in fbody NA
