It's all about the tune and nobody said anything about full weight car or what rings and valves are in there. Stock bottom end LS1's have been in the 10's many times over but what's really needed is weight reduction.

Yeah I figured factory ring gaps with a 150,000 mile stock bottom end... that's why I asked.

When I assembled my LQ9 the ring gaps were .021 1st and .022 2nd. and I'm a little weary moving up from the 100 shot to a 150 shot. At the time I built the engine it was just a small cam & headers build. Told myself "this isn't going to be another snowball into something else build". Now I wish I would have went forged and gapped the ring set lol

Stock 150k ring gap. 150k stock head gaskets and bolts, stock rod bolts. Valve covers never been off after 5 years of beating. Stock exhaust manifolds. Cut out only exhaust mod. Pretty standard timing no timing pulled to 50 hp and 1 per 25 after. 12.8 at wot. 93 octane pump gas. Always over 5000 da at our local track.
