Taq - try S&W, $149 for a 8 point roll bars. About the cheapest I have seen.

Well guys.... the weekend did go as good as I expected. We got this really shitty air - mid-80's high humity and low bromo. DA was 3750.

But the good new... nothing broke. The 200 shot worked like a champ. The 60' was below what I expected. But most of the other racers were saying theirs was off also - from .03-.05 just in 60'.

Here's a couple of the time slips - best is the 10.517 at 129.980 - the worst was a 10.666 (don't ask). But the major of the 12 runs were from 10.51-10.53, mph was from 126-the 129. Oh yea. Went 2 round on Saturday - against the "big" boys (that was that **** 10.66 run - obviously didn't run my number) and 5 rounds on Sunday before I red-lite (.016).

Best
60' - 1.425
1/8 - 6.694
MPH - 103.203
1/4 - 10.517
129.980

Next
60' - 1.417
1/8 - 6.692
mph - 103.312
1/4 - 10.521
mph - 127.686

Most of the others on Sunday were 10.53-10.57 mph 127. Saturday about the same.

I was happy - the SS ran consistently - pissed off because the DA was so high that times weren't what I expected.

I HAD a really nice video of one of the 10.52 runs, but the son accidently taped over it .

Next race - IHRA ET Divisional Finals in Cordova IL 1-3 October.

I'm going to post this in the Nitrous and Drag Sections also.

David

David,

That is a monster of a DA! How much do you think your car will pick up in good air? You're hoping for the good air in Nov and I'm hoping for a track that will hook.

How does your mph on the 200 shot compare to the previous? Oh, and glad nothing broke

Thanks guys

I'm hoping that Cordova will be a "prelude" to Thunder. Cordova's at 600' altitude (ours at 1450) in the 1st week of October. Can only hope for some good air. I seen a post in the Drag section of a guy that raced there this weekend - 800' DA. Good god I would love to get even 1500'.

I did A-tap one of the runs. Everything looked good. Running pig rich. I suppose I could bump it to 24 degree vice 22 that would lean it out a little. But why risk it?? I THINK with better air the A/F will naturally bring it back nearer .905 - I was running .985 or so. I didn't pull any of the plug, but I usually do the following week - I know you are suppose to right after the run but I usually forget. It's time to change them again any way.

Oh by the way - the TH-400, trans-brake, reverse-manual and the cheater shifter is a kick *** combo. I love and still miss the 6-speed. BUT not that much any more

yea i always forget also. usually after the race i will leave the car alone for a couple of days. sometimes it even stays on the trailer for a while. although i usually changed the plugs every 2 months or after 2 times at the track since there so cheap.

dav, weres that pic of your trailer. i looked on your site but did not find it.

Up date on my times. I ran low 10.60's this past weekend at Super Chevy. The Hot Rod needs some tuning and I think she will run 10.40's at Thunder.

I will keep ya'll updated.

I have 2 big races this weekend and the bracket finals(NHRA) Oct 1, 2 and 3 at Ennis, Tx and the IHRA bracket finals on Oct. 8,9 and 10th at San Antonio, Tx.

Hope to race ya'll at Thunder.

Sean, any time. We have been following your progress, so there will not be any surprises. RIGHT???

Taq. I have been so lazy, never have gotten a picture of my new 28' but the open trailer is on page 2 (go way down to the bottom and click on "more pictures of the SS" tab).

So far; Taq, Eric, PSJ, Sean, Coach, myself. This list continues to grow. Got to love it

dav, i was at the super chevy show the weekend and saw some nice trailers and wondering what yours was like. is it kind of like a camping trailer but with space for a race car and tools? does it have a bed, shower, rest room, and a kitchen? if so thats awsome. how much did you pay for it?

Taq

Na. Mines just a plain jane 28'. Most of the trailer with the living quarters are 42-52' trailers. Way out of my league. The bank and I have a very "special" attitude towards each other - don't ask for something really stupid and you have it. I only wish I could afford one. Mine was $11K, most of them start at $25K.

I have an inflatable matt that I throw on the floor, a couple of blankets and a pillow. I call it home on the weekends
